Dr. Steven G. Pratt
Steven G. Pratt, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board certified ophthalmologist and a Fellow of the American College of surgeons. He is a certified Visx refractive surgeon and has been doing refractive surgery since 1993. He is honored to have been the choice of local celebrities, fellow physicians, and their wives & families, when seeking laser vision correction.
Dr. Pratt was born in Los Angeles, California and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California and his Medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Pennsylvania. He served in the Navy as a medical officer, where he completed his ophthalmology residency at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego. He then went on to Harvard Medical School to complete his fellowship training.
Dr. Pratt currently serves as a senior staff physician at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology Refractive Surgery Interest Group.
He is a past vice president of the San Diego Eye Bank and is proud to have played an important role in establishing the San Diego Eye Bank Laser Center as the largest Visx facility of its kind in North America.
He is a world recognized authority on the prevention of eye disease and serves as a consultant for numerous pharmaceutical & health care corporations. He has been widely published and has lectured nationally and internationally on the need to incorporate lifestyle and diet as a means to prevent eye disease. Dr. Pratt has appeared on numerous news programs throughout the United States discussing eye health and laser vision correction.
Dr. Pratt is married, and a proud father of four children, and has spent time as both a little league and youth soccer coach.
